Hiking

HIKING
When all that remains
of the day
is the old hiking stick
leaning on the garage-
he will never forget

the trees swaying,
the firm rocks
below his feet,
splashes rising
beneath the waterfall.

When the last grain of dirt
is washed from his shoes,
he will still know
what a cloud feels like-
still be glad

he took the chance.

Soccer

Soccer

Sometimes it's rainy and muddy, and when I slip head first into the wet mud, I feel great because it shows that I've been sprinting all I can.

Then after the game, no matter if we won or lost, the coach gives us some sliced oranges as we suck the pure 100% mouth- squeezed orange juice. This helps us warm up for the day. He also hands out the player of the day certificate with McDonald vouchers and other tickets.

Driving back home, Dad asks how the day was. Good, okay, Whatever. I shrug. Anyway, after I step into the door a loud noise stabs my ear. ¨You're so muddy! Quick, Do a shower!" shouts Mum. I nod. Walking upstairs, I turn on the shower as all the mud in my head mixes with the clear transparent water, sinking down the drain.

Did you ever?

Did you ever?

Did you ever
Go driving to the mountains?
Dad steering
Trees swaying
Baby shouting.
ItÅ› boring.

Did you ever
Go jumping at a trampoline park?
Heart hammering
Legs powering
Water disappearing.
Try it!
